Art Licensing

Thank you so much for your interest in licensing my artwork for your products!

Please be sure to check out my Art Licensing FAQ’s before submitting a licensing request via my Licensing Enquiry Form below.

 Art Licensing FAQ’s

  • In simple terms, Art Licensing is a process where you purchase the rights to use artwork from an artist or designer on your products for a set period of time – a bit like renting their creative work.

As a licensee, you pay a fee to the licensor (that’s me, the designer), for the rights to use their artwork in line with the agreed upon terms and conditions of the licence.

  • Purchasing a non-exclusive license grants you the rights to one of my existing designs, allowing it to be manufactured and sold as finished goods within one product category of your choosing.

It's crucial to understand that, because this license is non-exclusive, the same design might also be licensed to other companies simultaneously within the same category. Additionally, the design will also remain on platforms such as Spoonflower, where others may purchase the design printed on fabric, wallpaper and other products.

Given the flexible nature of this license, non-exclusive licenses generally come at a more affordable cost compared to exclusive licenses, making them an ideal option for smaller businesses.

Important Note: You do not need a license for selling finished goods made with fabric purchased from retailers such as Spoonflower.

  • Securing an exclusive license provides you with sole rights to use one of my designs exclusively within a product category of your choosing. Throughout the exclusive license period, the design won't be licensed to any other companies operating within the same category as you.

While you enjoy exclusivity within your chosen product category, as the designer, I maintain the right to use the design for any purposes not explicitly outlined in the licensing agreement. For instance, if you exclusively license a design for Children’s Apparel, I reserve the right to license the same design in a different category, like Stationery or Wallpaper.

Upon the conclusion of the term, you will always have the first opportunity to renew the license for the design. Should you choose not to renew, all rights revert back to me, the designer.

  • As the designer, I maintain full copyright and ownership of the artwork, along with all derivative works, at all times.

Currently, I do not offer buy-outs.

  • As each client's situation is unique, a tailored approach to pricing is essential. As part of the quoting process, I carefully consider various factors when determining the cost for a license.
