Home Studio Tour!
Hello friends, welcome to my home studio!
As an artist, my studio is where the magic truly happens. It is my absolute favourite place to spend the day, and it’s where I have the space and freedom to bring my ideas to life.
I am so excited to finally be sharing this space with you. We moved into this house in September of 2020, and since then I have slowly but surely been piecing together this bright, beautiful and colourful space. I think I’m finally done…. for now at least! Stay tuned until the end of the post to see a fun throwback to my studio in December 2020!
So, are you ready to take a look around? Let’s go!
Without further ado, here is a snap of my home studio! Full of my favourite colours and plenty of natural light, this space is without a doubt my favourite place to spend the day. The most recent addition and the finishing touch to the space was my office chair. It’s the Virtue Office Chair from Koala. I was over the moon when it arrived and I saw it in my space for the first time, the colour matches my computer and the whole room perfectly!

The cork boards mounted up on the far wall are another recent addition. I love being able to put up my latest work, especially when I am working on a new collection! You can see my latest collection Neighbourhood Magic up on the left board and a few collections in progress on the right board. I picked these cork boards up from Kmart, but they needed a little DIY magic as I didn’t love the look of the aluminium frame that they came with. I painted the frames myself using Chalk Paint (also a Kmart find) in the colour Rust and they came up great!
What you can’t see in the photo above is Winton’s cozy little den. He truly is my shadow, so we have his crate set up right next to my desk. He loves to curl up and nap the day away right next to me while I work in the studio! Isn’t he just the sweetest?
On my desk, I like to keep things pretty simple and clean. I have a monitor stand to help create a little more room on my desk, I like to be able to tuck my keyboard away and quickly clear for my iPad when it’s time to draw! My main tools of the trade are my 24” iMac (in Orange - of course!) and a 12.9” iPad Pro, I use them both on the daily and I truly couldn’t live without either of them. I also use my old Macbook Pro laptop on occasion too, I’m glad I decided to keep it around when I upgraded to a desktop. It is so handy! I love that I can use it to work from anywhere and I was so excited when I discovered that I can wirelessly use my laptop as a second screen for my desktop! Thanks, Apple!
I don’t have too many decorations or accessories here on my desk, but I do have a few favourite bits and pieces that I like to keep around! On the left is a beautiful art print from The Good Type Co! Aside from it having all of my favourite colours, I also love having this print right next to my computer because honestly, I really do need this reminder. I truly love what I do, so it can be a little too easy for me to get stuck in work mode at times! I also have a little USB salt lamp, no special reason here - I just like the colour and it makes me happy when I look at it! Forever chasing the cozy vibes!
On the back wall of my studio, I have an assortment of fun things! On the left, I have my sewing machine and my Cricut - I don’t use these on the regular but I do love to have them close for when the inspiration strikes. I’ve enjoyed sewing little pet bandannas for Winston and friends along with crafting my own stickers and gift tags on the Cricut. I love having these tools on hand to bring my ideas to life!
Next to this, I have a little Ikea Räskog Trolley and a set of Alex Drawers for storage. I use the trolley to store all of my traditional art supplies, think: brushes, markers, inks, pencils, pens and paints! In the drawers, you’ll find all of my other supplies such as paper and sketchbooks. On top of these drawers, you’ll find the printer that I use to produce my art prints and stationery products. The printer is a Canon Pixma Pro 200, I highly recommend it if you are in the market for an art printer, I love it! I’m so happy with the quality of the prints and I love having the ability to create some of my own products in the studio.
And last but not least, you’ll find another shelf for storage on the far right. On the wall above this shelf I have some beautiful letterpress cards illustrated by my friend, Ophelia. You can find more of her work over at Banksia Creative. She gifted me this set, but they were far too lovely for me to actually use… so I framed them! Below this, you can find my favourite candle in the world - it’s the Cedarwood + Moss candle by Kennedy Smith! It smells like a forest and I am obsessed. I also keep a few other bits and pieces like my small office printer, books and paperwork files in this space.
Oh and let’s not forget that throwback picture I promised! Here is a snap I took of my home studio in December of 2020 vs my most recent studio picture that was taken in May 2023. You’ll see a few things in common here, but everything around it has slowly but surely evolved and improved! It’s been a real journey getting to this point.
I had so much fun scrolling through my camera roll trying to find that throwback picture for you all. I stumbled across so many cute and fun moments captured here in the studio, so I thought it might be nice to share a few with you here too! I hope you enjoy this glimpse into daily life in the studio over the last few years, and please enjoy the baby Winston pics!!!
